How Hotels & Restaurants Are Enhancing The Experience Through Video

As the old adage goes, a picture is worth a thousand words. By that reckoning a one-minute video shot at 60fps (frames per second) is worth 3.6 million words!

It’s no surprise that many hoteliers and restaurateurs  are turning to video in order to tell their stories and use this content across their social media and website to capture the ‘real’ experiences they offer their customers.

Below we have highlighted a few hospitality businesses that we think have just nailed it.

Number 1: Experience-Led

The Torridon

This 5 star luxury hotel in the Northwest of Scotland have led the way for a number of years by creating great video content.

What have they done:

  • “A place like no other” video including drone footage overlooking the property stitched together with local activities and the USPs of the hotel

  • Short videos targeting certain demographics such as activity breaks and car experiences that have been shared across social media

Number 2: Covering all bases

Banchory Lodge

A quirky country hotel located in Aberdeenshire with a great location on the banks of the River Dee that deserves video as images just don’t it justice.

What they have done:

  • Very cool drone footage overlooking the property with overview of property and surrounding areas, video showcasing local activities

  • Walkthrough of property from a guest’s perspective

  • Animated gifs of key business areas such as food and drink

Number 3: Food for thought

Six by Nico

What a game changer this place has been. Six by Nico offers a unique restaurant experience with an ever changing menu every 6 weeks.

What have they done:

  • Created story led videos which showcase their new menu theme and dishes which have helped create a buzz around the business, drive social fans up and more importantly bookings. Check out our personal favourite, Childhood.

Number 4: Funny and imaginative product launch

German Doner

These guys really do offer gourmet doner kebabs using premium meats (yes, really). This is none of your 2 in the morning stuff, this is proper food.

What have they done:

  • German Doner Kebab “Up Your Krunch” campaign to launch the new product on the menu. A keep fit message we can all get on board with.
